Canada is blessed to have the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, which has always sustained Canadian writers, actors and performers. Particularly in his early years as a writer, Silver Donald Cameron was a frequent contributor to the CBC as a radio journalist, panelist and commentator. He also wrote and produced numerous radio documentaries, and occasionally hosted such shows as As It Happens.

His major work in radio, however, was in the field of radio drama. Over a period of 20 years, Silver Donald wrote more than 50 dramatic scripts for CBC radio, and was several times nominated for ACTRA Awards for Best Dramatic Writer – Radio.
